We are aware of the problem
The Caterpillar IT experts took some time this week to explore the computer We are stated with basic mouse practice. Pictured below are three friends trying so hard to wait their turn.
The Butterflies had a wonderful Fun Friday with Miss Melanie! The whole day was about bubbles. Pictured below is Wesley working on bubble art. We can't wait to see what Miss Melanie has in mind for the next Fun Friday.

Hard at work
Caterpillars hard at work. Yes we all have jobs. Here Bobby and Robert cook dinner. Kylee and Corbin work in the office. Kaylee called Mrs. Schaefer to see if I need her to go to the store. Unfortunately, Corbin ate the grapes before she could get them home and she had to go back. These kids are really growing. Great imaginations!
Let's Share
Let's share! The butterflies enjoy inspecting all the fun things brought by friends for sharing. It is our little Toast Masters time. Everyone waits for their turn then tells the class all about their sharing. All the students get a chance to view the items up close before we put the things away.

Spreading a little sunshine
On Wednesday we spread some sunshine by painting with yellow paint. Some friends painted the sun. Some friends painted yellow bubble gum. Some friends painted Mrs. Schaefer but we all had fun.
The girls say peek-a-boo in the kitchen.

Playing together!
The Caterpillar class is showing us how to play together, even when they'd rather not. The ball castle is especially inviting, and with 3 balls to use, 3 friends can use it at the same time. Today, Robert, Isaac and Caden discovered the fun of working together to chase the balls down the path.
Our M art project was mice with yarn tails and sequin eyes, requiring the use of scissors and glue. David-Lee was so taken with them he made 4.

Red week sharing
The Butterflies had their sharing time Wednesday morning, they are so comfortable standing in front of the group! Thank you, parents, for editing what we know were probably 100s of red things to send. It would be helpful if we could limit what comes to school to a single item...do the best you can. Not worth a major battle!
Thursday and Friday are applesauce days this week, the children will help chop apples and add sugar and cinnamon, when cooked they are 'applesauce', usually a big hit.
Kelly, Wesley, and Charlie were three of the children who worked on their pedaling skills.
Look for the Apple Tree art project - a combination of cutting, gluing, drawing and sponge painting.
The sound of 'M' and yellow next week.

Can you hear me now?
The Caterpillar's second week is off to a smooth start. Even after a long weekend, they came to school today ready to listen and learn. Students remembered our routines, followed directions the first (or second) time, and made a straight line to walk to the bathroom and playground.
Babies and phones were a big discovery today. Many conversations were heard about being at school and going home after story time, between students and between students and teachers. What a different world these students are growing in!
